Subject: Dispersed buildings
Toponym: Ca' di Sopra
Type: House with unroofed porch
Municipality: Loiano
Locality: Scanello
Description
An interesting building consisting of three parts built at different times, as can be inferred from the masonry of the middle section, in which we can see squared stone blocks laid to form the corners of the first masonry structure, now flanked by later additions.
Of the type with a small unroofed balchio (porch), or profferlo, and entrance with a rounded arch, it cannot be easily dated; the small ogival window on the first story of the taller central building portion is a characteristic 18th-century feature.
The building remained practically unchanged over a thirty-year period, something that can be considered fairly unusual.
