Description
The complex, built before 1681 and today almost totally in ruin, was imposing and also included an oratory dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene. Even the ruins evoke an impressive majesty, given the width of the segmental arches, as well as the quality of the place.
The mill race conveyed water of the Rio Querze', as well as that of the Savena River, into a tank (called botte); no fewer than four millstones were thus able to run by virtue of the available flow. The opposite banks of the Savena were linked by means of a striking bridge suspended by steel cables, built in 1914 and still in existence, though it appears extremely run-down today.
