Built between 1950 and 1951, based on a design by the architect Luigi Vignali, it was completed in 1991 with the construction of an octagonal bell tower crafted by local stonecutters completely from sandstone.
The interior houses an exhibit of sacred art in a room dedicated to Don Bosco. Also on display are an Immaculate Conception with Saints Petronius and Dionysius (oil on canvas, 1685) by Giovanni Antonio Burrini and an Enthroned Madonna and Child (oil on copper, 18th century). The latter painting is believed to have been present in the old church destroyed during the Second World War.
