Subject: Dispersed buildings
Toponym: Lodolesca
Type: Building
Municipality: Monghidoro
Locality: Stiolo
Description
The building complex now called Lodolesca (590 m) was recorded during the cadastral survey of 1385, in the town of Stiolo, under the names of Lodolisti and Ca' di Lodolisti, which suggests an etymological derivation from lodola or allodola (lark).
The village grew on a small ridge overlooking the Savena River valley towards northwest; on the part jutting out most there are some 16th-century buildings, recently restored, which appeared like ruins in Fantini's pictures of the 1930s.
