Subject: Mills and agricultural buildings
Toponym: Mulino dello Spirito
Type: Mill
Municipality: Monghidoro
Locality: Lognola
Description:
Built in the mid 19th century and presently in ruins, it was of small dimensions and stood at the junction between the Rio Lognola and Rio della Vasellara, at the bottom of the watershed.
Two millstones set on different levels were moved by an equal number of millwheels driven by water supplied from a single tank.
The mill became sadly famous because of the fate of its first owner, Gaetano Prosperi, known locally by the nickname of "Spirito", who was executed in Bologna on 15 December 1863.
