Subject: Historical settlements
Toponym: Mamietto
Type: Rural settlement
Municipality: Monghidoro
Locality: Mamietto
Description
Very little of the historical past of the buildings remains in this settlement; there is one that still has two 15th century stone-framed windows, filled in with masonry: one has a pointed arch, the other an architrave and corbels, and both have a sill with a concave profile.
In former times, there had been an interior 17th-century doorway with an architrave decorated with a Maltese cross inscribed in a round twisted-rope frame.
This doorway replaced a previous one, positioned adjacent to it and partly demolished, with a date engraved in what remained of the architrave: the numbers "...22" were legible, probably 1521522.
One of the chiselled jambs of this doorway was used in the more recent one.
