Description
The village of S. Andrea Val di Savena is characterized by a functional element connected to the system of thoroughfares, which frequently appears in mountain architecture; namely, the "underpass", a passageway between dwellings created to avoid the phenomenon of "obstruction", that is, when an extension of one of the adjacent buildings is erected above the passageway to leave it free.
In this case, the underpass was built with an arched entrance made of stone slabs, behind which wooden ceiling beams can be glimpsed.
