Description

At the foot of Monterenzio Vecchio ("Old Monterenzio"), there remains nothing except for a few ruins of the parish church dedicated to St. Stephen.

A name appearing in documents dating from 998 and 1034, Monte Renzulli, was the site of a castle and court belonging to the Marquis Boniface, father of Matilda of Canossa.

A yearly market was held there on the feast day of St. Andrew.
