Description

Very little has survived of this Romanesque church; the few remains, now undergoing restoration, are a reminder of what it was like before the war.

The portal with columns, entablature bearing an engraved dedication and round arch reflect the quality of the church; there are few surviving remains in the apse part.

Based on information downloaded from the Internet, Roman tombs, weapons and bronzes were discovered here, attesting to the antiquity of the site; and also an architrave with wording in the Greek alphabet which warned: "No one may enter the temple unless barefoot and without covering their head with ashes".

A decorated statue base with an inscription in the Gothic alphabet, dated 1241, is certain to have been present in the 18th century.

A plaque incorporated into the facade bore the date 1334, likewise engraved in Gothic characters.
