There is some formal ambiguity concerning the original use of this building, most recently used for residential purposes: on the front, but not in the centre, there is a round inwardly flared opening, like those typical of churches up to the 18th century; a small bell tower stands upon the roof and the support for the bell still remains.

These elements suggest an original function as a religious building. However, there are no other features to support this hypothesis.
