A church consecrated on August 12, 1933 by Monsignor Tagliapietra, bishop of S. Severino Marche.
This parish church is included in the List of Churches of the Diocese of Bologna drawn up in 1300 and preserved in the Vatican Archives (the oldest list possessed by the Diocese); it thus dates from an earlier time, not easy to determine.
On 29 January, 1840 Cardinal Opizzoni, Archbishop of Bologna, bestowed the honorific title of "archpriest's church" upon it, while it remained dependent on the parish church of Barbarolo.
