Like Anconella, Sabbioni was originally a stopping point along the road to Tuscany and here as well the building intended to accommodate travellers was endowed with a portico.
The blacksmith's shop stood opposite the inn.
The sign carved into the stone architrave of the door features both horseshoes and tools of the trade.
