Description
Euphotide or gabbro is a coarse-grained (grain size of up to a few centimetres) greenish-grey intrusive igneous rock made up of crystals of albitized plagioclase with the presence of stripes and veins of prehnite and chlorite, granules of clayey minerals and often chloritized and serpentinized clinopyroxene (diallage) with marked cleavage.
This rock was used in the past to make grindstones for watermills.
