Description
Golden yellow sandstone of the Monte Adone Formation (Intrapenninic Pliocene Succession).
In proximity to the ridge, erosion has sculpted "castles" in the sandstone, tall tower-like formations that are always topped by a protective "cap" made up of more strongly cemented layers and/or cogoli (pebble-like rocky formations) of varying size.
